TAS-BETCs

TAS-BETCs are used in the GWA system to indicate the type of activity being reported, such as payments, collections, intragovernmental, borrowings, etc. The BETC must always accompany the TAS along with the dollar amounts in order to classify the transaction against the fund balance with Treasury.

Treasury Account Symbol (TAS)

All three forms of a Treasury account: STAR, GWA and CGAC are available on this web site. Note that Treasury applications may limit the format that financial transactions may be submitted in. For more information, please refer to: https://www.fiscal.treasury.gov/cars/faqs.html#tas.

Business Event Type Code (BETC)

The BETC is an eight-character code used in the GWA system to indicate the type of activity being reported, such as payments, collections, borrowings, etc. This code must accompany the Treasury Account Symbol (TAS) and the dollar amounts in order to classify the transaction against the fund balance with Treasury.
